Carneros Creek Stewardship
The mission of the Carneros Creek Stewardship
is to protect and enhance the resources of the Carneros Creek watershed
The first meeting of the Carneros Creek Stewardship was held in February 2001 and the group continues to meet on semi-regular basis. The Stewardship is an apolitical, non-advocacy group that provides an opportunity to combine the services and expertise of a variety of landowners and managers, agency personnel, special interest group members, and the general public to cooperatively satisfy local interests through education, awareness, watershed assessment and planning, monitoring, and project implementation.
Stewardship Goals:
- Assess the physical features of the watershed on an on-going basis
- Provide education about the watershed
- Protect and restore natural resources, including native fish and wildlife species
- Protect and enhance the economic and human resources
- Create a sustainable, enduring watershed stewardship
Stewardship Activities:
- Holding watershed meetings
- Promoting watershed awareness
- Implementing a watershed management plan (view plan)
- Monitoring streamflow (view current RCD streamgage monitoring projects)
- Monitoring sediment (view current RCD sediment monitoring projects)
- Conducting volunteer well monitoring to establish water level trends
- Implementing watershed projects
Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in the stewardship.
