Stewardship is a community perspective that moves from dealing with objects (people, parts, and pieces) to dealing with relationships and the results of interactions in order to meet today’s needs without compromising the well being of future generations.

It is not a process or set of tools to be used to alter or to affect the values of others. Behavior changes may result from the development of stewardship, but they are not the purpose of stewardship. (Dennis Bowker)
